PAMSA in IFMSA
PAMSA functions within the IFMSA framework as the group of National Member Organizations (NMOs) which are in the American Continent and the Caribbean. Its activities are coordinated by the IFMSA Regional Coordinator for the Americas in conjunction with the NMOs.
In the scope of the IFMSA, projects and exchanges fall under the purview of the Standing Committees, but administrative issues related to membership, regional cooperation and collaboration on common issues, and exchange of knowledge and ideas falls under PAMSA.
PAMSA has grown as its members grow. Today, there are 19 NMOs that identify themselves as part of the Region of the Americas and contribute to its activities.
Our mission statement
"The Pan-American Medical Students’ Associations, PAMSA, aims to
represent the diverse group of medical students in our region by being
aware of the challenges we face, acting as ambassadors to our
communities, and forming a network of concerned students who are
dedicated to communicating efficiently on the issues facing our region."
