Overview of IFMSA-Panama

First established as the Panamanian Federation of Medical Students' Societies (PFMSS) in 1999, IFMSA-Panama is today a full member of the International Federation of Medical Students' Associations (IFMSA).

IFMSA-Panama comprises students from Medical Schools in the Republic of Panama recognized by the Ministry of Education and the University of Panama as such.

There are 3 Local Committees in 3 Medical Schools. The Medical School at the University of Panama is public. The other 2, Universidad Latina and Columbus University, are private. All these schools are located in Panama City.

One of the main activities we organize is the Exchange Program through the Standing Committee of Professional Exchange (SCOPE) of the IFMSA. Taking into account our Mission Statement, the main goal of the Exchange Program is to integrate medical students at national and international levels, through the social-cultural and academic-clinical exchange that the program offers.

To get to know more about the local activities we have done and are organizing in the future, you may visit our national version of the website: www.ifmsapanama.org/pa/
